Commitment to Adapted Sailing
Lindley Group is strongly committed to the field of adapted sailing. Its function is to provide floating infrastructures adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility. Since 2005, Lindley has collaborated with several nautical clubs and municipalities to make these facilities viable, namely with the 'Vela sem Limites' initiative of the Cascais Yacht Club, in Portugal, with the support of the Cascais City Council.
Together with the promoters of this initiative belonging to the Club, Lindley developed a solution adapted for people in wheelchairs with boarding and disembarkation aids. Its 'adapted' floating docks are manufactured with reduced freeboard and safety grids, in addition to presenting greater stability and overload capacity. The access walkway is equipped with a high-grip floor and an additional handrail to facilitate the use of wheelchairs. The infrastructure has a crane launcher for transporting people, through a harness that transfers sailors from wheelchairs to boats or vice versa. Lindley Group develop inclusive infrastructures so that everyone can enjoy the sea and navigate without limitations, in an accessible and safe way.
