New dock in Gavião (Portugal)
12-12-2019
The Gavião City Council already has a new jetty on the Alamal River Beach to promote nautical activities on the Tagus River, between the Belver and Fratel dams. Lindley has been the company awarded of the manufacture and installation of this dock. The company has supplied a 12 meter-long dock that allows the mooring of ten jet skis, as well as eight boat or two touristic boats. On one side of the pontoon, a low freeboard has been designed for kayaks.
Until now, in Praia do Alamal there was no possibility of mooring; in any case, the pontoon is located in the vicinity of the beach so that boats can dock safely and without disturbing bathers. The mayor of the Gavião City Council, José Pio, intends to “turn the Alamal River Beach, more and more, into a reference point for the Tagus River and Alto Alentejo”.
