Lindley diseña y suministra seis estructuras metálicas flotantes que servirán de apoyo a los pilones
The Lindley Group once again strengthens its connection to nautical and sporting activities by designing special solutions for events. On this occasion, their involvement resulted from a partnership with the World Air Race Championship (WARC), the company responsible for organizing the first edition of NOS Air Race, which took place between July 4th and 6th in the bay of Cascais.
NOS Air Race is an airplane racing championship based on the famous Reno Air Races, which have been in existence for over 50 years in the United States. The chosen location for the first edition of the race was Cascais Bay due to the undeniable beauty of the area and the exceptional weather conditions, which were conducive to the event. The airplane race featured the participation of 16 racing planes capable of reaching speeds of up to 350 km/h at low altitudes, as well as special appearances by elements from the Armed Forces and TAP. The course of the race included the presence of six inflatable pylons placed on rafts, which served to mark the race circuit, allowing the aircraft to compete on an exclusive and pre-defined route.
Lindley designed and supplied the six floating metal structures that supported the 25-meter-high pylons used to mark the racecourse. They also provided an emergency response and installation monitoring team if needed. This solution was designed and conceived by our team of engineers, specifically to meet the needs and specifications of the event.
