Expansion of the contradique pontoon in Marina Rubicón

Almarin has executed the expansion of the attached pontoon for transits at the contradique of Marina Rubicón, in Lanzarote. This project, which increases the mooring surface, has been carried out by installing a new 24-meter long pontoon adjacent to the existing one. This new space is accessible through a small balcony, from which two walkways extend: one connecting to the expansion and another linking to the original pontoon. The mooring system used consists of grey beams.

This work faced several challenges, the main one being the adaptation of the grey system to the pre-existing quay, which showed an inflection and slope. Additionally, the installation of two considerable-sized walkways from the same overhang had to be taken into account.

The Marina Rubicón harbor has 550 berths with a finger system for boats up to 50 meters, as well as an area designated for larger vessels on the quay.
