07-04-2013
The IPTM Delegation of the North and Douro once again awarded Lindley the re-establishment of the markings on the Douro waterway. The works included the repositioning of the signaling buoys in the correct positions and their geo-referencing, the repair and replacement of damaged equipment such as signal lights and accessories, replacement of the numbering and identification, and also the replacement and improvement of the mooring systems of the entire signaling system.
The operations involved various means in the water such as a platform equipped with a winch and semi-rigid with a differential positioning system, and means on land such as a crane truck and support car, as well as a team of six technicians supervised by expert technicians of Lindley, going along the entire waterway of the Douro between Foz and Albufeira do Pocinho, involving coordination with the services of the IPTM Delegation of the North and Douro for the passage through the Crestuma, Carrapatelo, Régua and Valeira locks. With this collaboration with Lindley, the IPTM Delegação do Norte e Douro aims to optimize maintenance services, ensure safe navigability and control operating costs through a partnership with a single partner.
