New Floating Pontoons for Marina da Glória in Brazil
11-04-2016
Marina da Glória, located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, was inaugurated on April 7th following an infrastructure improvement process to host the sailing competitions of the Rio 2016 Olympic Games and to become a new marina. The inauguration coincided with the Rio Boat Show, one of the leading boat shows in Latin America, which took place from April 8th to 17th at the marina's facilities.
The marina's renovation included the installation of new floating docks, allowing for an increase and restructuring of the number of available berths. It also involved the creation of a dining area, shops, and a recreational area with a bicycle lane, a viewpoint, and green spaces. Lindley BR was the company chosen by the BR Marinas Group, the concessionaire responsible for the space, to develop the project for manufacturing the new floating pontoons made of concrete, with lengths ranging from 12 to 15 meters and widths of 3 to 4 meters. This range of equipment is characterized by its robustness and stability, with high overload capacity and minimal maintenance. This new marina will have the capacity to accommodate up to 300 vessels of up to 160 feet.
Lindley BR is a company within the Lindley Group with over 85 years of experience in the maritime-port sector and has previously completed similar projects in Brachuy, Ribeira, and Itajaí. For the first time this year, the company is exhibiting at the Rio Boat Show, providing an opportunity to showcase its range of products in the marina equipment and marine navaids in the Brazilian market.
