Adapted Sailing: The sea without limitations, within everyone's reach

The manufacturer Lindley is strongly committed to adapted sailing. Its task is to provide floating infrastructures adapted to the needs of people with reduced mobility. Since 2005, Lindley has collaborated with various yacht clubs and municipalities to provide these facilities, in particular with the 'Vela sem Limites' initiative of the Cascais Yacht Club in Portugal, with the support of the Cascais City Council.
In conjunction with the promoters of this initiative belonging to the Club, Lindley developed a solution adapted for people in wheelchairs with boarding and disembarking aids. Its ‘adapted’ floating pontoons are made with reduced freeboard and safety rails, in addition to greater stability and overload capacity. The access walkway is equipped with a high-grip floor and additional handrails to facilitate the movement of wheelchairs. The infrastructure has a jib crane for the transfer of people, through a harness that transfers the navigators from their wheelchair to the boats or vice versa.
Almarin, as Lindley's representative in Spain, provides this know-how to the national market to develop inclusive infrastructures with the aim that everyone can enjoy the sea and navigation without limitations, in an accessible and safe way.
