Elastic Mooring Systems
This mooring system is designed for the subjection of floating pontoons. A reinforced elastomer element with a mooring eye at each end is incorporated into the mooring line.
The elastics are configured to be tensioned at low tide, stretching as the tide rises or with horizontal loads to the pontoon. They are characterized by having a proportional extension, reducing point loads and avoiding compromising the structure. This element can be extended up to 100% of its original length.
The main advantage of the elastic mooring system is its reduced maintenance: as it does not touch the seabed, it does not cause wear on the mooring line and in turn minimizes damage to the marine ecosystem.
